The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) goes online for its 51st edition from 26 January to 6 February 2022

After a jubilee edition that had to take place in two parts and online, the organizers of the Rotterdam festival hoped to be able to return to the in-person event for this 51st edition. Unfortunately, Omicron invited itself during the end of the year holidays and the organizers decided to migrate once again to online. The selection of films and the general program are still extremely interesting, and while 52 film titles are only available to the public on-demand in the Netherlands, from 26 January to 6 February 2022, the Talks can be followed from all over the world for free. International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) launches the second part of its 50th edition in a hybrid way with a very rich program from 2 June until 6 June 2021

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) presents fiction and documentary feature films, short films, and media art. The festival’s focus is on recent work by new filmmakers, with space for retrospectives and themed programs. IFFR actively supports new filmmaking talent through its co-production market CineMart, its Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab, and other industry activities. Adapting to the Covid-19 restrictions, IFFR is to celebrate its 50th edition as an expanded multi-part festival, the first part took place online from 1 to 7 February 2021 and the second part is a hybrid form, from 2 to 6 June, with both festival parts connected by a dynamic series of physical and online events.
