Shebeen Flick – Irish Film Festival Berlin
Shebeen Flick 2017 will take place on 16th-19th March in Moviemento Kino showing a curated programme of Irish films that have not yet been distributed in Germany alongside selected favourite Irish classics.
Each feature film will be paired with a short and, whenever possible, the filmmakers and cast will attend the screenings and take part in Q&A sessions with the audience at the Shebeen Pop-up Bar.
It all started in 2010 when the project launched as a weekly film night in the former Shebeen Chic Bar in Dublin. A total of 32 screenings, showing both features and shorts, took place in Dublin attracting the attention of the media and of Dublin’s film community.
In 2012 Shebeen Flick moved to Berlin, becoming an integral part of the St. Patrick’s celebrations in the city. Since then, every March Sheebeen Flick gives Berliners the chance to see a curated programme with films that have not yet been distributed locally alongside some favourite Irish classics.
The upcoming Shebeen Flick will take place on 16th-19th March 2017 in Kino Moviemento in Kreuzberg. Each feature film will be paired with a short and, whenever possible, the filmmakers and cast will attend the screenings and take part in Q&A sessions with the audience at the Shebeen Pop-up Bar.
